Paying down your loan balances is one strategy to accomplish this. Maintain your debt-to-income ratios. You don’t want to upset the apple cart by immediately taking on more debt after a preapproval. Your credit information should remain the same from the time of your preapproval to the time you actually take out the loan. Remember, preapproval is not a guarantee.
